birdSEED provides “no-strings-attached” down payment grants to qualifying Black and Brown first-time home buying residents in the Washington, D.C. area. AmbitioUS is providing a project-restricted grant to support two birdSEED down payment awards to BIPOC applicants who self-identify as artists, cultural producers, artisans, or creative entrepreneurs. This investment will support knowledge-building—and potentially, model replication—among AmbitioUS staff and funders with regards to shifting capital and ownership to Black and Indigenous cultural communities.
